eFTI Trailer Corridor: Türkiye–Trieste–Central Europe
Adriafer and Nextfreight are jointly deploying an eFTI pilot centered on the Trieste seaport as the gate-in/gate-out point for a consistent multimodal logistics flow between Türkiye and Central Europe. The pilot combines Ro-Ro and rail transport, with particular focus on dangerous goods and the modal shift from road to rail. The initiative brings together the Police as the competent authority, alongside economic operators including Adriafer (as service provider and port ecosystem eFTI provider), freight forwarders, truckers, and the Trieste Port Authority. Circle contributes regulatory compliance for dangerous goods and waste, along with multi-gate, multi-layer interoperability across TEN-T corridors.
Structured as one pilot with three subsets, it aims to enable dangerous goods transport by rail, connect eFTI with the Combined Transport Directive (covering e-CMR and dangerous goods provisions), and establish an operational framework under the Freight Forwarder and Adriafer as Service Provider. Expected outcomes include a validated end-to-end eFTI workflow with significant reductions in time, errors, and paperwork, alongside real-time access for competent authorities and high replicability across similar port corridors.
