Get Ready for eFTI!  9 July 2027 – countdown to compliance starts now!

eFTI4LIVE was presented at the 44th UN/CEFACT Forum, held in Dakar, Senegal, from 24 to 28 November 2025. The project was showcased by Dr. Hanane Becha (DigitalTrade), who delivered the presentation in her capacity as UN/CEFACT Vice Chair for Transport and Logistics.

The Forum brought together experts, policymakers and industry representatives to explore how digitalisation can enhance the efficiency, transparency and interoperability of global supply chains. Within this setting, eFTI4LIVE played a prominent role in illustrating how harmonised data models and process-driven digital exchanges can strengthen multimodal logistics and support regulatory compliance at international scale.

During the Conference, the eFTI4LIVE project was introduced as part of the broader overview of new and ongoing UN/CEFACT projects. The discussion highlighted the growing alignment between B2G and B2B data frameworks, particularly through the launch of the UN/CEFACT eCMR Review project and its convergence with the eFTI4LIVE data structures. Participants also reviewed progress in joint efforts involving key international bodies to advance interoperability and standardisation across all transport modes.

A second session deepened the conversation by focusing on the alignment of digital transport contracts. Contributions from eFTI4LIVE emphasised the transition from document-centric digitalisation to a process-driven approach that enables more efficient, trustworthy and scalable exchanges. The session also explored the legal and operational implications of emerging digital frameworks, including the accelerating adoption of electronic Bills of Lading and the importance of harmonised standards to ensure legal certainty and multimodal negotiability.

The Forum concluded with the presentation of the official meeting report during the closing session of the Sustainable International Supply Chain PDA. The final remarks highlighted the need for interoperable data ecosystems, robust trust frameworks and coordinated operational change to move from pilot initiatives to global deployment.

With its active participation in Dakar, eFTI4LIVE reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the digital transformation of transport and logistics, contributing to the development of harmonised standards and helping shape the next generation of interoperable, efficient and compliant data exchanges across Europe and beyond.
