Get Ready for eFTI!  9 July 2027 – countdown to compliance starts now!

This spring, Austria organised two dedicated workshops on 4 March and 29 April 2026, bringing together economic operators, technology providers and potential eFTI platform developers to discuss the practical implementation of the eFTI Regulation.

The events focused on fostering dialogue with industry stakeholders and collecting valuable technical input in a workshop-style setting. Participants explored the opportunities and challenges associated with connecting Transport Management Systems (TMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and future eFTI platforms, while sharing their expectations, requirements and operational realities.

A key objective of both workshops was to identify organisations interested in participating in future pilot activities, particularly regarding TMS/ERP-to-platform onboarding scenarios. Discussions covered system integration approaches, data exchange mechanisms, validation processes, security considerations and the role of eFTI platforms in supporting more efficient and standardised freight information exchange.
The workshops also introduced participants to the Austrian eFTI Playground 2.0, a reference platform designed to support testing, experimentation and future pilot activities within the eFTI ecosystem. Through interactive exchanges, attendees helped identify common pain points in current freight information processes and contributed insights that will support the design and execution of upcoming Living Labs and pilot projects.

These activities represent another important step towards ensuring that future eFTI solutions are developed in close cooperation with the organisations that will ultimately use them, helping bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and operational needs.
