In a freshly released video interview, Rocío Báguena Rodríguez, General Secretary at the Spanish Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and representative of the coordinator of the eFTI4LIVE project, highlights Spain’s strong commitment to the digitalisation of transport and logistics, placing eFTI within a broader vision for secure, trusted and interoperable data sharing across the mobility ecosystem.
In her words, General Secretary Báguena underlines how the eFTI Regulation represents much more than a technical change: it is a structural transformation in the way regulatory freight transport information is exchanged across Europe. By July 2027, Member States will need to be ready to accept freight transport information electronically, helping reduce administrative burden, improve enforcement, strengthen legal certainty and support more efficient logistics operations.
A central message of the interview is the importance of cooperation. The implementation of eFTI is complex and requires coordination among public administrations, IT experts, enforcement authorities, certification bodies and private stakeholders. As highlighted by Spain, no Member State should work alone: sharing experiences, testing together and learning from each other are essential to accelerate progress.
